Edmond Dantès

Light and shadows

ST. JOHN’S, NL—I was on the road, and I saw this in two gas stations on the way:

It makes me “happy,” because it reminded me of the old days, when comic books can be bought in gas stations and in convenience stores.

But it makes me “sad,” too, knowing that this isn’t going to last, since it was just displayed because of Superman’s James Gunn James Gunn’s Superman—and knowing that most children nowadays literally don’t know how to read anymore.

But either way, the truth is, I don’t really care.
